So I am finally getting to our last full day that we were in Japan. This was on Saturday and we left Sunday morning. We decided to drive up into the mountains and get some yummy ramen noodles. Now these ramen noodles are not like the cheap 20 cent packages at the grocery store. It was the same curly noodles but they tasted so much better. Plus they had pieces of yummy pork on top. This little restaurant we went to was also the people's house. They lived in the back part. The whole menu was in Japanese characters so we just said "we want ramen" and she knew what we wanted! We had a perfect view of the Tamagawa (gawa is river so it was the Tama River). It was really pretty up there.
Here we are with the ramen. Notice the teeny tiny cups again!
This was a temple on the river. The little building below had a bell that you could "gong" with a big stick (if that makes sense). Clark pulled the stick back far and it "gonged" the bell really loud! I swear it echoed throughout the mountain side! So if you look at this picture bigger you can see the Japanese man getting ready to "gong" the bell. "Gong" is the only word I can think of that explains what you do.
Not a flattering view of us, but here we are in front of the temple.
On a bridge we walked across to get to the temple over the Tamagawa.
Just a cool picture of their cemeteries. We thought they were pretty cool looking.
Up close of some blossoms. They aren't the cherry blossoms, we were there too early for those. Brad said they were probably plum blossoms. Oh and that is the actual color of them! They were awesome.
