Tradition

No, I'm not doing a post about Fiddler on the Roof! I'm talking about Christmas Tradition. I think the reason I love Christmas so much is because of the traditions! My family has some great ones, and it makes Christmas so fun. Well the Pierson's have a tradition of going to the Festival of Trees every year to buy a tree on the Tuesday before it opens to the public. I LOVE this tradition. It is so fun to go look at all of the creative trees and other Christmas decor. Well this year Angie is decorating a tree to donate! I told her I would help her, and I haven't been able to because of school and work but on Wednesday we are going down to Kaysville and I am going to help her. She has bought some really cute things for it and the tree is going to be called "The Christmas Spot" and it is going to have a theme of polka dots. Not too crazy but she has cute round ornaments, circle beads for garland, and presents wrapped in cute polka dot wrapping. I will have to do a post about it when it is finished. So last year they actually ended up with two trees, and they have so many trees from past years, that I'm not sure if they will actually buy one this year. But it is always fun to go down, and this year we will be watching to see if anyone bids on Angie's tree! They should cause it will be super cute. She is so creative and crafty, I love it!

Clark put up Christmas Lights at the Apartments again this year! Last year he made a "tree of lights" out on the building and it looked so good. He did it again this year, and I can't wait until December to turn them on. We are sticklers about waiting until December to turn on lights and decorate. Don't get me wrong I LOVE Christmas and all the decorations, I just like waiting. Plus with school I'm too busy to do it before Thanksgiving anyway. I'm also sad I no longer work at Pier One. I was looking at some of their Christmas stuff and it is cute! Clark is glad I don't work there because I bought way too much stuff. But I'm feeling the need to buy a new Christmas decoration... I might need to stop at Tai Pan or Pier One soon!

Is Love Alive

So I have been loving the song "Winter Song" by Sarah Bareilles & Ingrid Michaelson. It isn't technically a Christmas song so it has been tying me over until December 1st when I can turn on my Holiday Songs playlist and play it the whole month of December! You can't make fun of me, but the first time I heard it was last year on the MTV show about high school kids at this performing arts school {I didn't miss an episode, I love reality TV!}. I think it was called "Taking the Stage". Anyway the girl on that show sang it for her winter concert and I LOVED it. So I went on itunes and found the real singers and bought it! I've been waiting for winter so I can listen to it, since for some reason it just doesn't feel right listening to it when it isn't winter. I don't know how to put

Giving Thanks

I have been a blog slacker lately. School and work is consuming my life, and I finally have a night where I don't have homework. However I should be getting ahead on my homework, but who wants to do that right! So I decided to change my blog around. Although I love the Japanese Plum Blossom picture I needed something different. Clark took this picture a few years back of the Fall leaves and I love it. I think we both wish we were photographers! I know that the leaves are basically gone and there is snow on the ground, but I'm not ready to forget about Fall. And I refuse to forget about Thanksgiving and move straight to Christmas. I saw someones Christmas Tree up in there house yesterday! I mean come on, at least wait until Thanksgiving has passed. I won't put up any Christmas decorations or listen to any Christmas music until December 1st. That gives me more than enough time to enjoy the music and the decorations. Poor Thanksgiving is getting taken over by Christmas. So let us remember those things we are thankful for and put aside our shopping lists for "Black Friday" for one day!

For Thanksgiving this year we are going to be in Logan with my Emmett family at my Grandparents home and I am so excited. Luckily my Grandpa won't be starting his Chemo until after Thanksgiving, hopefully he can enjoy the delicious food. Last year we were in Kaysville and it was so fun because our brother in law Shad was coming home that day from being over in Afghanistan! It definitely gave us many things to be thankful for including all those who are fighting for our freedoms! The Fourth of July isn't the only day to be patriotic!

I also wanted to add how excited Clark is for ski season! All day yesterday and today he has been drawing up plans on how he can build a rail that will come apart so he can take it all over town. My uncle Tom even hooked him up with some mis-matched skis that he can use just for doing rails. Now he is looking online at new ski outfits. He is crazy if he thinks he is getting something new, because that was his Christmas last year was his new coat and pants. I came across this cute little picture today.... He is so cute and little in his ski boots.

Clark told me that we can have a little girl as long as she will go skiing with him and go on jumps and rails and not be a wimp like their mother! I am kind of a wimp, but I don't want to break my leg going off some jump. Also an important thing to add is that we kind of have insurance now! We have accident coverage with Aflac so now when Clark goes skiing I won't be as worried as I usually am. And apparently if I injure my back again like I did last year, I can actually go see a doctor!
