Fresh Powder Turns In May? What!

[Clark's first post on our Blog and he did it all by himself!]

This is why I love living in Utah.  It was the 25th of May, and it felt like I was skiing in February.  I couldn't believe how light and fluffy the snow was.  As we drove up Logan Canyon the sun was just coming up and the lower elevations were really green but the tops were covered in snow.  It was sweet.  We rolled up on Tony Grove Lake at about 6:30. It was cold, the snow hung in the trees and looked as though we were in a winter wonderland.  It was a day I won't soon forget.  We promptly unloaded my buddy Ryan's snowmobiles and headed up the mountain. We made it to the top of the Mt. Naomi Ridge Line. Then we started the search for some gnarly lines.

After the sun was out it started to warm up and the snow started to condense.  We decided to build a booter, which turned out to be super sketchy (at least to me it was, Ryan loved it).  The transition was really bad so when I went off I was "rolling down the windows".

After a few times on the jump I called it quits and became the photographer.  Here is Ryan looking smooth busting a huge method.  Many thanks go out to my buddy Ryan for always letting me ride his sleds.  We had a lot of fun skiing the fresh May powder.  I'm glad I got one more ski day in before I had to put the skis away for summer.

Way cool Clark! Dustin wants to ski The Bird tomorrow but I am having a really hard time wrapping my head around putting on ski boots and snow clothes instead of just grabbing a mountain bike.

Looks like a great time. Now if you can find fresh powder in August, you'll really have something!

My advice is to take advantage of the snow when ever and where ever you can. It certainly looks like you don't have any trouble handling things - keep it up!
