Memorial Weekend

We had a really fun Memorial Weekend.  It started on Saturday when we drove over to Plymouth UT (yes there is such a place) to spend time with Clark's family on his Dad's side.  We had lunch at Clark's Grandma & Grandpa Pierson's home.  Although they passed away when Clark was little the house is still in the family.  Then we headed over to the Plymouth cemetery just in time for the rain storm!

On Sunday we were able to go to the Brigham cemetery with my family to visit the graves of my Grandma's family members.  This is where my pioneer ancestry comes from.  My great-great Grandma Agnes walked across the plains as a young girl.  After the cemetery we went to my Grandparent's for dinner of hamburgers and hot dogs.

My cute little sister Kathryn Agnes Emmett
Her middle name is after our great-great Grandma who crossed the plains!  My Grandma said if anyone will name their child after Agnes they will get the organ that belonged to her.  Katie needs to learn to play the organ I guess!

On Monday morning I woke up and ran the stairs at Old Main with my sister and my cousin.  We did it last year so we decided to make it a tradition.  We do it so we can eat lots of yummy food later on.  After our run we went up to the Logan cemetery to visit the graves of my Grandpa's family.  Then we had lunch at my Grandparents home.  We have the tradition of eating my Grandpa's curry.  It is a family recipe and isn't quite like real curry, but it is still delicious.  I always love spending time with my family.  I look forward to the same traditions each year and remembering family members who sacrificed so much and are great examples to their posterity.

Hope everyone had a great Holiday Weekend!
