Christmas 2008

We started our Christmas in Kaysville on Monday and we left Christmas Eve morning after opening presents with his family.  Then we headed to my sister Allison's house in Smithfield and spent Christmas Day at my Grandpa & Grandma Emmett's house for the annual celebration!  I don't really have any pictures from Christmas Day (we left our camera at home).

Funny story-- as I was unloading our car after coming home from Kaysville, I lifted a laundry basket out of my trunk and totally threw out my back!  It hurt so bad, and still kind of does.  It is funny though because it wasn't even a heavy basket, and I had to borrow my Grandpa's ice pack and some of his motrin!  Thanks Grandpa for taking care of me and my back :)

We're going to Jackson....

Clark and I were invited by our friends Ted and Cortni to go to Jackson Hole this past weekend!  We stayed at the Love Ridge Resort Lodges, which are right next to the Snow King resort.  They got a really killer deal on these condos.  This picture is the living room and to the left of the fireplace was there master suite, and down the hall past the kitchen was our master suite, plus another living room area.  They sweet talked the lady into adding the other room on for free.  So we opened the joining door (technically they were 2 separate apartments that you could join into one)  and had a HUGE area for just the 4 of us.  

Here they are on the outside, just picture them covered in snow and that is what they looked like when we were there!

You can't go to Jackson with out the good old antler arch photo!  Above is Cortni and Ted our friends from our married student ward.  Actually we met Ted back in our dating years at the good old Smithfield student branch (yes i said branch, it was quite the experience) when I lived at my dad's house!  Ted was in the branch and we became friends there, then we both got married and when Clark and I moved to our second apartment, they ended up being in our ward!

We had such a fun time, and it was a nice relaxing weekend after our busy week of finals!  Thanks to Ted and Cortni for the invite!

Max & Jack

Clark made my sister Allison a changing table to match the crib they bought at Target.  The changing table was out of stock, so I volunteered Clark to make it for baby Jack.  I think he did an awesome job at making the exact table she wanted.  He just looked at the picture, and away he went

Here is the changing table with the crib.  Her wall is a really cute orange that matches the bedding, my camera made it look more yellow. The room isn't quite put together, but its coming along.  Since Jack is sleeping in the cradle in her room (Clark also built the cradle back when Max was a baby) she doesn't really use Jack's room yet, only for the changing table.

Today I went over to Allison's house and took some pictures of Max & Jack for a Christmas card.  I didn't want to show the pictures she is going to use on the card, so you get the ones that didn't make the final cut!

Christmas Decor

So my cousin Paige had a cute idea on her blog.  She showed her Christmas ornaments and decorations that were her favorite, or had meaning.  So I'm going to share some of my favorites, because I love Christmas time especially the decorating. Now if only I had a house I would have more room to decorate.  There are only a few places in our apartment to put things.

Away in a Manger

Clark's mom gave this nativity to us for Christmas last year, and I love it!  Clark actually made me the manager/stable this year, and I think it looks exactly like the expensive one in the store.  He made mine for free!  I just need to paint it.

Let it Snow!

My great grandma made a bunch of snowflakes like this one (this actually isn't one she made, but I hope to inherit the ones my parents have).  My grandma has a few trees with a ton of snowflakes on it and I love it!  

Oh Christmas Tree

This is our tree!  We did a color theme of red, gold, & silver.  I love our tree, and thanks to Pier 1 imports I have a lot of ornaments!  And don't mind our tipping tree topper, we can't get the star to stand up straight.

Joy to the World

Clark's sister Angie and I made these "Joy" blocks, and I think they turned out pretty cute, considering how I'm not too crafty.  Also I love my little whimsical Santa!  

I have a lot more decorations, but the pictures just didn't look right.  

I'm just dreading putting them all away!

'Tis the Season

Every year Clark's family goes down to the Festival of Trees and buys a tree.  I've gone with them the past few years, and it always makes it feel like Christmas.  It is a fun way to start out the Holiday Season!  This year they actually ended up with 3 trees!  They had the highest bid on two trees, and then Angie went back on Friday and bought a cute tree that hadn't been sold.  All of the money goes to Primary Children's so it is definitely worth it.  The Pierson house is VERY festive this year.

This tree was awesome!  A guy made it all out of glass.  They showed the video of him actually making the tree, pretty impressive.

You can't really tell but Clark and I are standing in front of one of their trees.  It was mostly red and silver with some cute signs that said Happy Holidays.

This picture is just a random one of my new nephew Jack, he was born Dec. 5th.   I thought he looked so cute and cozy asleep on the couch. 

Grandparents

In my class today we were talking about Grandparents and how great they are!  So I decided to give a shout-out to my wonderful Grandparents.  They all do so much for their families and provide us with so many good memories.  You can't help but love your Grandparents, aren't they great!

Grandma Norda is so great she even has a cool store named after her (Norda's found in Logan, UT and Park City, UT for those of you who aren't aware of this awesome ski/snowboarding store)

My Grandpa always provided us with a working computer!  He can fix anything

They both are wonderful cooks, and make homemade pasta that is to die for.

My wonderful Grandma gave me her beloved '94 Honda Accord with only around 85,000 miles on it when I was a Junior in High School and I still drive it today!  I love that car, Thanks Grandma!
