4th of July

For the 4th of July we spent the weekend in Kaysville.  On Friday Logan does there fireworks so we walked across the street to the park hoping we could see them and this is all we got....
We had to look through the trees, but it was fun laying there and not having to battle any crowds.

Grandma Carolyn with Liza, Gabe, & Matthew before church on the 3rd

Melissa & Brett were visiting from Kansas.  Brett just got back from Afghanistan so he had some time off.  It was fun hanging out with them for the weekend.

On Monday the 4th we skied at Snowbird.  I know my head looks ginormous with my helmet!

This picture shows you how "great" the snow was.  Looked like a snow cone.

This is one of the runs we did.  With only 2 lifts open and A TON of people the wait was long.  After about 5 runs we called it quits.  It was worth it to say we did it and get a t-shirt that also says we were there.

After skiing we had a BBQ and played some kick ball with the fam.  Then we went to the Kaysville fireworks.

Waiting for the fireworks.

July 9th we went to the ReAL soccer game thanks to my Dad & Lorie.  They bought all of our tickets.  We had the "cheap" seats but I thought they were great!  We were on the last row behind the North goal, but the stadium isn't huge so we were still pretty close.  The food stand was behind us and the kids had a big area to play since they didn't sit for very long.

You can't really tell but Clark & I were supporting ReAL with our jerseys.

Max & Jack waiting for the game to start.

Cute Nash (above) and Jack with their free soccer balls.

Nick & Adrienne.  I guess they got a pic since it was almost their anniversary.  Notice Katie & I were very into the game :)
ReAL ended up winning 3-0 (I think... maybe 2-0) either way it was fun

Lake Powell 2011

I'm finally catching up on blogging.  First our trip to Lake Powell.  We went down to Lake Powell with my family June 23-27.  My sister Allison and bro. in law Tyler have a time share on a house boat at Bull Frog and they invited us along for a fun trip.

The classic Jack stare

Just reading our books* getting some sun.  Also notice the water and how choppy it was.  The wind was a little annoying. * I was reading Half Broke Horses by Jeanette Walls.  I really liked it and recommend it.  After you read Half Broke Horses read The Glass Castle by the same author.  They are both true stories based on her family.

Clark and Max building a sand castle.  I love how Max's hair blends in with the orange sand.

Clark being an Indian warrior.

Everyone in attendance included my aunt Sherrie, Cousin Megan her husband Greg and two children Abby and Sam, Cousin Heidi and baby Logan, My mother, Alli and husband Tyler and two children Max & Jack, sisters Adrienne and Katie and Me & Clark  We had a lot of fun and since it was so choppy most of the time we just surfed behind the boat for the majority of the day with a little wake boarding, knee boarding and tubing in between.  The water wasn't as warm as Lake Powell water usually is because there was still a lot of run off coming into the lake and by the time we left the water had gone up about 5 more feet from when he first docked the boat and buried the anchors.

All in all it was a fun trip!

I haven't blogged in a long time but I've been waiting until I had something fun to write about, or at least some pictures to share.  We have been keeping very busy with work.  I decided it's not a good idea to go full time during the summer.  There are always so many fun things going on, and having to work 40 hours a week makes it hard to do those things.  I am excited to say that we are going to Lake Powell next Thursday and then the end of July we are going to Idaho to celebrate Clark's sister's birthday, and then over Labor Day I'm going to Santa Barbara to visit my sister Melissa, Adam, Merrick and baby girl Marquis.  I'm very excited to see Mr. Merrick and fatten up baby Elle.

This past weekend we had some fun.  I went to breakfast with my friends Sharli and Jennifer.  We went to Kneaders and I had delicious french toast.  That place is delicious.  Then that afternoon we celebrated my Grandpa Allred's birthday at a BBQ at my uncle Taylor and aunt Sherrie's home.  It was a lot of fun to be with my extended family!  Thanks Grandpa for having a birthday so we could celebrate.  We had yummy burgers and delicious grilled veggies.  I wish I had pictures to share (Curt you will need to send out the pics you took).  I just love that it is BBQ and Lake Powell weather.  Some of my extended family will be coming to Lake Powell with us next week.  I'm so excited, they are fun people!

This weekend we are going to be in Kaysville again for Art & Music in the Park.  My mother in law Carolyn worked for years to have a park made in Kaysville where the old Clover Club factory used to be.  The park is finished and they are having a fun art & music festival this Saturday from 10-6.  Clark will have a booth there to sell all of his magnet boards, shelves and other items he has made.  He has worked SO MANY hours building all of these items and spraying them fun colors.  I hope he can sell some and make some money for his new company CP Designs (website coming soon).  He has also been working many hours building a bed for his friend and his wife.  It looks great so far and is made out of Cherry which is one of my favorite woods.  I must say my husband is very talented.  So if you are in Kaysville this Saturday stop by and say hi to Clark.  I will be helping my mother in law over in the "kid" area helping them design their own quilt patterns.  So if you have kids send them my way, and you can go open your wallet to CP Designs!

A few pics of Clark's projects.

Giant magnet board Clark made for Kaysville City.  They will be using it at the art festival this Saturday.  Kids will have different shaped magnets and they can move them all around to make quilt-like patterns.  I think it sounds like fun!

Magnet board--I love the green color.  Each magnet board will come with a free magnet!

This is the magnet board Clark made me for my office at work

Shelf for my office

More magnet boards.  This one is made to look more rustic and made from cedar.

Magnet board with a little shelf.  He also made a few white boards too.

If you are in the Emmett family you will notice the lovely wall paper from the "yellow bedroom" and the Readers Digest books.  Classic.

College Graduate

Well I'm officially a College Graduate.  Yes, it took me 6 years to graduate with my Bachelor's degree.  It took me awhile to decide what I wanted to do, but once I decided on Family Consumer Human Development I knew I chose the right major.  I was officially done with classes in December, but walked May 7th 2011.  It was fun because I was able to see some friends from my classes that I hadn't seen since December.

Enjoy some A lot of pictures of my graduation from Utah State University.....

My sister Allison and my Mom came to the reception.  This is Jack, Allison's youngest.  He likes to stare.....

Or do a goofy smile!  He is still adorable though.  He loves his aunt "La La"

Max enjoying his cotton candy.  He was pleasantly surprised when he thought he was going to a "boring" wedding and saw all the carnival games and yummy goodies.

Angie & Steve playing the carnival games at the reception.  I believe they are doing the bean bag toss.

Clark's friends Kenny & Dino and his cousin Ryan playing the ball toss.

The reception was really fun!  They had a photo booth and carnival games as well as cotton candy and popcorn.  They had Aggie Ice Cream and sugar cookies as well as the candy bar.  It was a fun wedding and A LOT of people came.  So many people LOVE Angie and she has so many friends and acquaintances.  The Pierson family is very friendly and have so many close friends.  I'm sure many of the guests were for Steve & his family as well!  It was fun to spend time with family from out of town (Brad, Jill, Brett, Kim & Jeff).  Thanks for getting married Angie & Steve.

Happy Birthday Clark

Today is Clark's 26th Birthday!  Happy Birthday Clarky!
Many people have asked Clark if he is 21 yet or they think he is 22 or 23 years old.  He is 26 but has the spirit of a 12 year old.  He is always up for having fun and hanging out with the nieces and nephews or cousins.  He is young at heart and I LOVE that about Clark.  I have a cousin Alex who is 10 years old and he and Clark get along so well.  They love to ski together, kick a soccer ball around, or play with the Nerf guns.  Clark is a friend to everyone he meets.

Clarky Boy (not sure his age, but he is adorable)

Clark in his ski boots!

Sadly Clark is feeling a little under the weather with a head ache and sore throat.  I have work today so he is just taking it easy and we will go to dinner tonight.  I gave him a birthday sign this morning with a love message of 26 reasons why I love him (don't worry I won't blog it).  But basically Clark is awesome and amazing at most things he does.  And I can't wait to have little babies that look just like him with his big brown eyes and bowl cuts!
